In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
Als Senior Data Scientist im Public Sector übernimmst du eine führende Rolle bei der Analyse und strategischen Nutzung großer Datenmengen - insbesondere strukturierter Daten aus unterschiedlichen Quellsystemen. Du bist nicht nur in der Lage, komplexe Analysen durchzuführen, sondern auch datengetriebene Strategien zu entwickeln und diese gemeinsam mit unseren Kunden umzusetzen.
Zu deinen Aufgaben gehören unter anderem:

• Leitung und Durchführung komplexer Analyseprojekte mit Fokus auf strukturierte Daten
• Entwicklung und Optimierung von SQL-Abfragen, Datenmodellen und ETL-Prozessen für leistungsfähige Datenanalyse
• Beratung von öffentlichen Organisationen zu datengetriebenen Strategien und analytischen Best Practices
• Unterstützung beim Aufbau von Data-Governance- und Qualitätsstandards im öffentlichen Sektor
• Mentoring und Coaching von Junior Data Scientists und Analystinnen im Projektteam
• Präsentation von Analyseergebnissen und Handlungsempfehlungen für Führungskräfte und Entscheidungsträger
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit interdisziplinären Teams, um Datenlösungen in bestehende IT-Architekturen zu integrieren
• Optional: Einsatz von Python für erweiterte Analysen, Automatisierungen oder Machine-Learning-Prototypen

Required technical and professional expertise

• Abgeschlossenes Studium in Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Mathematik, Statistik oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet
• Mehrjährige Erfahrung als Data Scientist oder Data Analyst in komplexen Projekten
• Exzellente SQL-Kenntnisse und Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit relationalen Datenbanken (z. B. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
• Fundierte Erfahrung in der Analyse strukturierter Daten aus unterschiedlichen Quellen
• Fähigkeit, analytische Ergebnisse klar und überzeugend zu präsentieren - sowohl für technische als auch nicht-technische Zielgruppen
• Erfahrung in der Leitung von Projekten oder Teilprojekten im Bereich Datenanalyse
• Fließende Deutschkenntnisse (mind. C1) und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Kenntnisse in Python und gängigen Datenanalyse-Bibliotheken (z. B. Pandas, Num Py)
• Erfahrung mit Data-Warehouse-Architekturen und BI-Tools (z. B. Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos)
• Verständnis von MLOps- oder Dev

Ops-Konzepten im Zusammenhang mit Datenprojekten:

• Erfahrung mit Cloud-Plattformen und Container-Technologien (z. B. IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Red Hat Open Shift)
• Interesse an öffentlichen Verwaltungsprozessen, Datenrichtlinien und Compliance
