Introduction
The 'IBM Ecosystem' includes thousands of partners who 'Build' on, 'Sell' or 'Service' IBM technologies and platforms. As a Partner Technical Specialist your purpose is to influence your partners' technical strategies, working to incorporate and embed IBM's technology portfolio into Partner's reference architectures, practices, and solutions versus competition.
As a deeply technical seller, you'll increase your partners' technical capabilities by enabling their sales and technical sellers to experientially demonstrate IBM Technology at scale with your clients.

Your role and responsibilities
With the primary goal of expanding the capability and capacity of the overall Ecosystem, and depending on the market and /or partner growth opportunity, you'll cover all or a combination of IBM's 'Build', 'Sell' and 'Service' opportunities,
Part technical consultant, you'll build trust, understand the value of our partners' offerings, and co-create solutions that demonstrate the value of our relationship. All-the-while building confidence that motivates partners to include IBM solutions at the heart of their client proposals.
Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support our business partners in driving the adoption of IBM's portfolio of products and solutions. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to IBM's partners, helping them understand, position, and implement IBM technologies to solve business challenges and drive growth.
  • Building Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with IBM partners.
  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for IBM Business Partners, providing deep product knowledge and support across the IBM portfolio (e.g., Data & AI, Automation, Security, Infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud).
  • Assist partners in technical enablement, solution architecture, product demonstrations, and proof of concepts (Po Cs).
  • Work closely with IBM Sales and Partner Ecosystem teams to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Deliver technical training and workshops to partners to build skills and confidence with IBM solutions.
  • Provide feedback to product teams on partner and market needs to influence IBM's product strategy.
  • Support partners throughout the solution lifecycle from design and proposal to implementation and support.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, IBM product updates, and market trends. and Embedded Solutions

  • Deep Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IBM technology and solutions, with a focus on a specific area of expertise (ex. Automation, Storage, Data & AI).
  • Communication and Relationship Skills: Strong communication and relationship development skills to build trust and influence stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze business and technical challenges and develop solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the market and competitive landscape.
  • Experience in Pre-sales or Sales Engineering: Experience in a technical sales role is required
  • Project Management and Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage complex technical projects
  • Availability to travel: Travel may be required (up to 40% or 20% 1 or 2 days a week) depending on the specific role and location.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant technology fields.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: AI/ML, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, DevOps, or Automation.
  • Proven experience working with or for technology partners, vendors, or enterprise IT environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese.
