Job Description:
BUILD SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF
Technology is at the heart of Disney’s past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business globally.
The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.
How will you contribute to our magical experience?:
The Software Engineer will join Disney’s Media Engineering organization, contributing to the development of platforms that improve integration quality and testing workflows across multiple teams.
The Software Engineer will contribute to the design and development of scalable software solutions that support business and engineering needs across the organization.
This role involves working across the full stack—building backend services and user-facing components—while leveraging modern cloud technologies to deliver reliable, high-performing applications. The engineer will help improve system quality, automation, and overall platform efficiency.
Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, the Software Engineer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to deployment and iteration. This position is ideal for adaptable engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, taking ownership, and continuously developing their skills.
What we need from you to be part of this story:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python, with exposure to JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience building cloud-based applications, preferably using AWS.
- Advanced level of English, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Temporal, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Datadog.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to take on new challenges.
