Job Summary:
- As an Apprentice
- Software Configuration at Honeywell, in Yeovil, you will have the exciting opportunity to gain a degree level, nationally recognised qualification alongside working with our friendly Configuration Management Team who will support and guide you in Software Configuration. You will also have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to other Engineering disciplines such as Design, Test, Project.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This apprenticeship is set up for a duration of 5 years with an aimed start date of 3rd August 2026.

Key responsibilities:
For this Degree level Aerospace Engineering apprenticeship, Honeywell will provide you with the below, alongside a salary, with annual uplifts, and competitive benefits.

Level: 6 (integrated degree) Digital Technology Solutions Professional (DTSP)

Prior to Level 6: DTSP apprenticeships will cover general computing at levels 4 & 5
You will work alongside qualified and experienced Honeywell Software Configuration Managers to develop your engineering skills whilst undertaking part time academic studies at Yeovil College:

You will focus on all aspects related to Software Configuration Management
-
Planning: helping to ensure that configuration management is effectively applied to each program and provides an environment for continuously monitoring and improving the CM process.

Identification Management: Ensuring configuration items (parts, assemblies, products) are unambiguously identified, their associated documentation is prepared per industry and program requirements and placed under the proper level of configuration control.

Release and Change Management: Providing a disciplined and systematic method for placing configuration items under control and managing subsequent changes

Helping to support Configuration Audits, status Accounting and establishing and maintaining the Software Development Library
Key skills and qualifications:

5 GCSE’s or equivalent include Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) essential

A level or equivalent level 3 qualification, (e.g. BTEC), in a STEM related subject, minimum of grade C

An active interest in software development, (this could be from a hobby, work experience or education)

Business level written and verbal English language skills
