The purpose of Global VE/CE Projects Engineering Director role is to lead the VE/CE GPE team, working in various engineering disciplines like HPS, HBS and UOP. The VE/CE Projects Director will drive key metrics of VE/CE inside the Projects business across GBEs, creating and managing productivity projects.
Education Required
- Degree in engineering
- Instrumentation and Control or equivalent
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified will be added advantage.
Work Experience Required
15 plus years of experience as a program manager / operations manager. Should have worked as engineer / lead engineer for hands on experience, special focus in activities related to Project Engineering
Experience essential in
- Leading a diverse team spread across different poles
- Design, engineering, and deployment activities for project engineering
- Customer interfacing, project management and resource management
- Operations management for achieving the business results
- Experience working in a large multinational organization in a highly matrix environment
- Experience working in environments with focus on driving cost optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate engineer or other disciplines with an understanding of running a global organization.
- Effective technical communication skills
- Good organizational skills

Principal Responsibilities
The principal responsibility is to drive engineering productivity in the Projects Business by contributing in the following areas:
- Share a vision, mission and charter for the VE/CE GPE team.
- Keep very high employee motivation to deliver on quality and schedule for all assignments. Drive employee engagement and keep attrition under control for key positions.
- Drive standard HR Processes like HPD, succession planning, performance driven differentiation
- Effective employee communication through skip level meetings, townhalls, focus group communications etc.,
- Drive talent acquisition with staffing function and maintain skills and competencies of the team in line with LOB requirements
- Collaborate with current Projects teams in HPS, HBS and UOP, to identify and execute VE/CE Productivity projects, and track them in CORA system.
- Explode all VE/CE Playbook and Policies for the Projects Business
- Engage with Global GPE teams across the GBEs and Regions.
- Work with global LOB front offices to maximize GPE content and maintain effective communication with Global LOBs
- Demonstrate global mindset by working in a One VE/CE COE and OneGPE environment
- Drive continuous improvements projects for productivity and initiate and lead Kaizen workshops, Kaizen events, to generate VE/CE opportunities inside the Projects business

- HTCS GPE Leader, HPS GPE Leader, HBS GPE Leader, UOP GPE Leader, all VE/CE leaders for Projects (HPS and HBS)
- Global, pole level and regional operations team of all LOBs.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Ability to manage a team of VE/CE Projects Engineers to lead and drive VE/CE Projects in the Projects Business and adherence to schedules
- Ability to interact with the Global engineering team and get the back office and front office work efficiently to achieve business results
Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements
The position is based out of Pune , and will require travel to other office in Europe, US and other geographies as required
