As an Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will provide expert-level technical leadership in the design and development of complex engineering projects, acting as the subject matter expert and driving technical excellence. You will report directly to our Engineering Program Manager, and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
As an Advanced Project Engineer in the Heat Transfer organization, you will assist and co-manage medium to large, complex engineering projects or lead small engineering projects. You will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and project coordination. Your ability to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams will help align projects with business goals and customer requirements.
By developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, you will ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets will help maintain project efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3 years of product development in aerospace equipment experience.
- Earned Value Management experience.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment.

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Key Responsibilities:
- Co-manage complex engineering projects to ensure successful execution and delivery, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and Honeywell Aerospace standards.
- Lead small engineering projects from program kick-off through product verification while managing project scope, schedule and providing technical leadership.
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, schedules and deliverables, budgets and resource allocation in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance to schedules, budgets and processes.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
- Provide technical leadership to project team to help resolve complex challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.
- Champion for continuous Project Engineering skill development.
- Facilitate various teams to solutions and agreements.
- The design, development and qualification of heat exchangers which meet customer and internal requirements.
- Implementing development and qualification test objectives, writing test procedures, and overseeing the preparation of test units and the conduct of tests.
