As the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will shape the technology vision, elevate engineering excellence, and lead high‑performing teams in delivering scalable, innovative software solutions at Honeywell Aerospace. Your leadership will influence company-wide strategy, strengthen our technical foundation, and accelerate our ability to meet ambitious business goals. This role is central to advancing our mission for quality, driving continuous improvement, and enabling sustainable growth across the organization.
You will report directly to our VP IT and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
YOU MUST HAVE
- 8+ years of experience leading large, complex software development projects and teams.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (Java, C++, Python).
- Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Proven track record of successful project execution and delivery.
- Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute the overall software technology strategy of the organization.
- Drive enterprise‑wide initiatives that require deep coordination across business units, ensuring cohesive execution and measurable impact.
- Build and scale high‑performing teams through effective hiring, coaching, and talent development.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts with other business functions.
- Champion operational efficiency through modern development methodologies, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee software engineering budgets, resource allocation, vendor strategy, and long‑term strategic planning.
- Ensure software systems meet high standards for performance, reliability, security, and compliance.
