As a Lead Engineer for Switch Network Software here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of advanced network software solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency across various industries.You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge network software solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability, ultimately transforming the way businesses operate.At Honeywell, you will be part of a team that drives technical excellence and innovation, contributing to the development of high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 6+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.
- Experience with requirements management, configuration control and embedded software development tools.
- In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies, including Agile and traditional waterfall approaches.
- Ability to balance programmatic schedules and performance needs with realistic goals for software implementation and documentation maturity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical and programmatic information effectively to local and geographically remote teams.

- Working knowledge of ARP4761 (Safety) and DO-326/DO-356 (Security) is a significant plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and development of network safety-critical software solutions for switch systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Ensure the timely delivery of software projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Plan and execute Software Development Sprints within an Agile/Scrum framework, ensuring effective team collaboration and timely delivery of software increments.
- Guide the team in applying program specific Software Development practices in compliance with DO-178C objectives for Design Assurance Level A software.
- Perform safety reviews in accordance with the program specific process to ensure compliance with ARP4761-based Product Safety Assessment.
- Establish priorities for software development activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Set clear expectations for formally released software deliverables and produce evidence for configuration control and certification.
- Coordinate with multiple functional groups to ensure successful integration of software functions at the aircraft level and integration with hardware components.
