Advanced Project Engineer is a global position in IFS and PLATFORM V&V based in HTS India. As a Sr.
Advanced Project Engineer, you will be responsible in delivering the V&V commitments of cost and schedule commitments with the required quality for the assigned product portfolio (multiple programs). This role will require coordination and collaboration across several functional teams, Program Management, Engineering, Certification, Applications and OEM customer. (70% - 80% of time).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or equivalent.
- 12+ years’ experience in avionics software/systems/software verification.
- At least 3 years’ experience in leading the teams as a program lead\project engineer.
- V&V Expertise across multiple Product Co Es.
- Expertise in leading programs across the product lines (at least 2 or more product lines) within IFS and Platform (Like Graphic Core, MAU Core or any of the core platform).
- Strong technical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines.
- Strong understanding of software development and verification methods and tools currently in use as well as versed in industry standards.
- Prior knowledge on program management and business tools (ex: AET, Accolade etc.), IPDS Phases.
- Experience in preparation and execution of project plans, schedules, cost estimates, baseline change management, risk mitigation, technical design reviews, management reviews, customer coordination meetings, cost/schedule/status reporting. Implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve commitments.
- Experience in driving change through an organization.
- Experience leading multi-functional engineering teams within a global matrix organization. Self-initiative to reach out to team and form effective working relationships.
- Experience in representing Honeywell in front of key stakeholders (Ex: Program, Internal Audits, OEM Audits etc.).
- Ability to grasp technical concepts rapidly. History of understanding avionics and core platform life cycle: requirements, development, test, flight test, certification.
- Strong communication skills, able to understand the project risks well ahead, take necessary actions.
TECHNOLOGICAL & BUSINESS/STRATEGIC
- Working with key program stakeholders as a V&V CAM.
- Work with key stakeholders of the programs assigned to successfully deliver on the Cost, Schedule, and quality commitments. Stakeholders including but not limited to other CAMs and functional leaders across multidisciplinary teams within and across COEs for planning and tracking various aspects of the project (budget, milestones, quality, staffing etc.).
- Understand business objectives and drive the Improvement MOS to achieve the productivity and cycle time goals.
- Business acumen of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry.
STRATEGIC IMPACT
- Implementing Software V&V CoE strategies applicable to the programs.
- Ensure that process Improvement initiatives are successfully deployed on programs.
- A change agent and a practitioner of organizational initiatives, steering NPD transformation initiatives.
PLANNING/STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATION
- Single point of accountability for assigned engineering scope on the programs and represent the team in front of Engineering leadership and Program Management for execution of all engineering work, and for working within the established program hierarchy when making key decisions.
- Accountable for QE process, works with technical teams to guide them on technical risks, opportunities and assumptions and arrive at efficient estimates.
- Drive the core competencies and continuous PE skill development.
- Demonstrated ability on “Influencing without Authority” on innovative ideas and approaches.
- Strong MOS focusing on strengthening the communication and trust with team and stakeholders.
- Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives.
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of program management practices and procedures.
