As a Principal Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for acting as the subject matter expert by providing technical guidance, vision, and leadership on critical software development projects related to flight management systems. You will take ownership of technical solutions, drive innovation, and ensure the highest standards of quality and performance.

You will report directly to our Sr Software Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development of advanced flight management systems that enhance the safety, efficiency, and performance of aircraft operations.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• More than 7; years of experience leading software development projects, particularly in aviation or Flight Management Systems.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in software development.
• Strong C plus plus; or Object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations, such as DO-178C.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles specific to aviation applications.
