Join a fast-paced engineering leadership team that is driving product life cycle management across functions of NPI review and part selection guidance for Building Management Solutions. The VECE BMS Leader has full accountability for delivering BMS savings target and plays a crucial role in the VE/CE (Value Engineering and Component Engineering) organization by owning the GBE Ideation strategy, managing the organizational structure, pipeline, and productivity activities, and overseeing resource and talent management. This role involves steering ideation strategy, prioritizing ideas based on business impact, and ensuring compliance with budgets while serving as the escalation point for the VECE team. Role is to improve product margins, manage component obsolescence, achieve revenue protection of legacy products through resiliency actions, and develop supply chain flexibility to protect against future risk.
You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience and expertise in Hardware Design, Value Engineering, Design-For-Manufacturability and Assembly where candidate had created significant savings while leading global cross-functional teams.

- Solid knowledge of specific product and process technologies or broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, clear roadblocks, and balance priorities to meet overall business metrics.
Primary areas of focus:
- Global Productivity and Resiliency – Engineering leader responsible to the BA/BMS Businesses leadership. Role leads global Productivity Engineering (VE/CE) and Resiliency/Obsolescence organization while closely working with cross-functional teams like ISC (Integrated Supply Chain)/AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering), Product Design Engineering, Offering Management team, etc.
- Global director level role responsible for all BMS global overseeing global engineering teams complimented with 3rd party engineers.
- Productivity improvements may require leading product design changes, transportation BA and shipping, factory yield improvements, labor savings, and DFM improvements
- Role accountable for delivering/exceeding AOP (Annual Operating Plan) savings targets in range of over $20M per year across BMS business globally (America, EMEA and APAC regions).
- Role provides product sustenance support from Engineering perspective to BA factories to maintain production and avoid line down situations wherever parts are missing or not available per plan.
- Role requires necessary leadership skills to develop and motivate both direct and matrix teams located at global BA factories and design centers responsible for the delivering the savings and resiliency targets.
- Designs the BMS VECE Ideation strategy together with the Ideation Leader, and the Sourcing Leaders, and in cooperation with GBE Sourcing, Commodity manager, COE team, Site leader, Offering managers, etc.
- Prioritize ideas from business feedback, savings impact, and idea complexity, as well as in alignment with engineering resources (from GBE Ideation leaders).
Responsibilities include:
- Accountable in delivering/exceeding AOP (Annual Operating Plan) Savings target in range of $208M per annum across BMS businesses across globally (America, EMEA and APAC region)
- Accountable for generating savings Ideation pipeline of 1.2X AOP target through Agile Ideation and BAEs (Business Aligned Events)/Workshops
- Accountable for evaluating savings ideas on fast track mode while closely working with experts and team members
- Accountable for driving global projects to meet AOP savings target
- Support the Value Engineering, Component Engineering, Component Management and Obsolescence Engineering activities for BA business to offer overall Product Life Cycle Management aspects
- Periodic reports of Productivity results
- Talent management
- Development of required skills and provide performance management inputs to respective leaders and their team members
- Coach/Mentor teams and facilitate robust Agile execution
- Partner with HTS and 3rd party resources
- Strategy development
- Key project reviews, escalation, resolution and proactive risk mitigation
