PURPOSE
The Sr. HR Consultant, provides strategic HR solutions and services to HTC in order to contribute to overall regional HR success. Identifies, recommends and implements HR solutions that are aligned with business strategy, and acts a business partner/consultant to all business groups across all aspects of HR including but not limited to associate relations, compensation, talent management, workforce planning, organizational design, learning and career development.
The Sr. HR Consultant is responsible for the implementation and success of HR policies and initiatives and works collaboratively with leaders and associates at all levels to enhance associate engagement, while ensuring compliance with legislative and company policies and guidelines.
This role will have primary responsible for day to day HR operations in accordance with guidelines outlined in this job description
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Business Services and Associate Relations

Provides full range of consultative and strategic services. Including, but not limited to employee relations, relationship management, performance management, resource planning and accommodation.

Effectively builds relationships and acts as an HR advisor to all HTC associates and senior leadership team on strategic business projects.

Maintains awareness of emerging trends and best practices in the external marketplace and recommends solutions that place Honda as an employer of choice.

Provides policy interpretation and advice to enhance leader capability and to ensure adherence to corporate HR policies, programs and standards.

Assist and consult with People Leaders on workforce planning / succession planning / performance management

Provide direct coaching, mentorship and oversight to Supervisors and Team Leaders on various people leader activities Addressing associate concerns and inquiries. Conducts complex investigations and disciplinary matters with support of manager.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements

Provide performance management guidance to all levels of management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) provoking positive changes in the management of people and performance improvement

Responsible for policy development and implementation.

Measure organizational health and lead appropriate associate engagement and reward and recognition strategies

Analyze data and conclude action items with the Management team to ensure driving cultural alignment and positive associate relations and drive business performance
HR Strategy and Workforce Planning

Support Development of strategies for people management, succession planning, and talent management for key managerial and critical role positions and for stakeholders.

Supports the development of plans to guarantee that resources are managed strategically

Support Sr. Manager in the development, implementation and evolution of the HR Strategy

Works closely with management to understand and address business issues while leveraging opportunities to develop strategic HR Initiatives

Review current situation, develop project plans based on strategic direction, implement initiatives and evaluate success
Learning and Development

Partner with leaders to define individual training needs for associates. Identify development solutions and work together with leaders to track progress and ensure gaps are closed.

Develop annual corporate training plan and conduct skills assessments. Sources, coordinates and schedules approved internal training courses.

Conduct training and info sessions as required.
Recruitment
-
Leads the end-to-end recruitment of all positions (sourcing, interviews, offer, onboarding)

Works with recruitment agencies and consultants on hard to fill positions
Compensation/Benefits and Disability Management

Overall management of STD, LTD and WSIB claims; coordinating Return to Work and accommodation process

Support biweekly payroll and answer any questions

Leads and supports the annual HR performance cycle including merits and bonuses

Partners with Payroll, Compensation and Benefits teams as needed
POSITION PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS
-
Minimum 6-8 years of relevant, progressive HR business experience with a proven track record of delivering results.
-
University Degree in Human Resources and/or equivalent experience
-
Previous HRIS experience is preferred
-
Required to maintain composure, even temperament and professionalism in all situations.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required
-
Strong knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act and any other relevant legislation.

Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required

Technically grounded in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

A high level of individual initiative and ability to work with minimal direction while managing multiple priorities.

A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people leadership skills.

Skilled at building credibility and establishing relationships, confidently interacting with all levels of the organization.

HIRING PRACTICES
The salary range for this position is $83,139–$103,924 CAD annually. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of job-related factors, including education, experience, knowledge, and skill set.
This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site 2 days per week with the opportunity to work-from-home 3 days per week (with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office). Note business needs may require additional in office days as required.
