ABOUT HILTON SYDNEY

Iconic 598-room Hilton Sydney is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and is steps from Town Hall station and the QVB Light Rail stop. Amongst our operations, we are home to signature restaurant Glass Brasserie, heritage-listed Marble Bar, and we are the leading destination for Conferences & Events with one of the largest conferencing spaces in Australia.

Use your electrical skills on a mix of routine and reactive repairs, plus general maintenance across the building and its assets. Join our Engineering team and be the go‑to person keeping everything safe, reliable, and running at its best.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • To repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, kitchen, heating systems and associated equipment within the hotel in close co-ordination with the Chief Engineer

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including control wiring, single/three‑phase motors, commercial equipment, appliances, and basic data/network cabling.

  • Support daily hotel operations by responding to guest maintenance requests and completing assigned tasks, including physical duties (lifting, moving equipment, climbing ladders, enclosed spaces).

  • Work with the Engineering team to maintain smooth communication, follow all Hilton procedures, and report equipment issues, stock needs, and spare parts.

  • Coordinate contractors as required and ensure the workshop stays clean, organised, and safe.

  • Be flexible and reliable, participating in call‑outs, rotating shifts, and any other duties needed to support the business.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Previous electrical experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment, such as ships, hospitals, or retail businesses

  • An electrical trade qualification is required

  • Current knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes

  • A proactive and strong work ethic

  • A passion for managing a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day
