The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Greeter (Seasonal) at the Shore Houseto join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
Rising at the southernmost point of the legendary Hotel del Coronado, Shore House at The Del offers an elevated hotel experience in an extraordinary neighborhood of seaside residences. From an oceanfront pool that blends seamlessly into the horizon, to an inviting living room that flows effortlessly outdoors, Shore House offers an extraordinary sense of place, where family and friends form deep connections in a rare beachside setting.
Classification: Seasonal, Full-Time
- Begins May 2026 and ends no later than September, 8th 2026
Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $17.90 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Union Position: This position is part of the Local L30 Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.
What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Shore House Supervisor, The Shore House Greeter is the welcoming agent to coordinate a friendly and smooth arrival and departure of each Shore House guest. The Shore House Greeter is a property ambassador and assists in crafting a curated experience for our guests while supporting all team members in executing the highest level of service while creating “Del Memories”.
Projects professionalism and a positive attitude while efficiently and courteously assisting our Shore House guests. Must be able to handle and process guests’ requests and exceed their expectations while providing them with personalized services and accurate information.
- Open car doors for both arriving and departing guests. Extend a warm welcome, a pleasant day and/or a fond farewell depending on circumstance.
- Attend to all aspects of the arrival process; welcoming guests, unload, handle and deliver luggage and orient guests to their assigned accommodations as required.
- Secure luggage as required.
- Operate golf carts as needed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain an orderly arrival and departure experience by keeping driveway traffic flowing.
- Direct valet parking attendants to service opportunities.
- Initiate transition of guest from the welcome at the front drive to the host for check-in.
- Assist with hailing taxis and/or Del shuttles for the transportation of our guests.
- Must know how to drive manual transmission
- Drive guest vehicles
- Provide directions as required and requested.
- Maintain an attentive and pleasant atmosphere.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with owners, guests, peers and members of the management team.
- Check daily activity board in order to be aware of special needs of our guests along with arrival and departure time of our guests.
- Maintain cleanliness standards and proper care of all supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to department and hotel procedures and policies
- Provide assistance to all hotel departments as required.
- Adhere to guidelines established in the Hotel del Coronado Associate Handbook.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by members of the leadership team.
