Position Summary:

The Teppanyaki Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in front of guests using the teppanyaki style. This role requires exceptional culinary skills, showmanship, and the ability to create an engaging dining experience while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook teppanyaki dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Perform live cooking demonstrations at guests’ tables, ensuring an entertaining and interactive experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the teppanyaki station and kitchen area.
  • Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and menu consistency.
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle guest inquiries professionally.

  • Proven experience in Japanese cuisine, especially teppanyaki-style cooking.
  • Strong knife skills and ability to perform precise cooking techniques.
  • Excellent presentation and interactive skills to engage guests during live cooking.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • Culinary certification or equivalent experience (preferred).
