Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the MICE Sales Manager will be responsible for driving market share, generating new business, and managing key MICE accounts across domestic and international markets. The role requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional stakeholder management, and an ability to convert opportunities into revenue while championing the Waldorf Hilton brand
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively identify, qualify, and convert new MICE business opportunities across key segments (corporate, agency, association, incentive, international markets).
- Conduct structured sales calls, virtual appointments, client presentations, and regular outbound activity to maintain a strong pipeline.
- Attend industry trade shows, networking events, client entertainment, and familiarisation trips to represent the hotel and build brand presence.
- Deliver engaging site inspections and hotel showcases tailored to client needs.

Account Management & Partnerships:
- Manage and grow relationships with assigned MICE accounts, including major UK and European agencies.
- Develop tailored account plans focused on revenue growth, share shift, and long‑term client retention.
- Conduct regular account reviews, performance analysis, and joint business planning.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering personalised and solutions‑oriented service.
3. Market, Competitor & Commercial Insight
- Monitor industry trends, emerging markets, competitor activity, and changing client needs to identify new commercial opportunities.
- Utilise data, forecasting, and market intelligence to drive strategic decision‑making and optimised business mix.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to support pricing strategies, load business appropriately, and maximise profitability.
4.
Client Engagement & Travel:
- Act as an ambassador for the hotel’s repositioning, effectively communicating product updates, refurbishment progress, and value propositions to clients.
- Participate in domestic and international sales missions to develop global business opportunities.
- Build relationships with Hilton Worldwide Sales teams to leverage cross‑regional corporate and agency opportunities.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Groups, Conference & Events, Operations, Marketing, and Revenue teams to ensure flawless execution of events and guest experience.
- Share client insights, market intelligence, and event requirements across departments to enhance operational readiness.
- Support development of collateral, presentations, and promotional material as required.
6.
Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain accurate, timely records and forecasts within the CRM system.
- Produce weekly and monthly activity reports, pipeline summaries, and performance updates for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, processes, and sales governance.
Person Specification
Experience & Technical Skills
- Proven experience in MICE sales within a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel or equivalent hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated success in driving new business and managing high‑value event clients.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to analyse data, understand market dynamics, and create strategic plans.
- Confident presenter with excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
