Hearst, one of the nation’s largest diversified information, services and media companies, has an opportunity for an Accounting Senior Manager. This role is an integral part of Hearst's Controllership team, supporting the finance operations of a fast paced, global business. This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Prepare and review financial reports, both internal and external, providing insights and variance analyses to leadership for data-driven decision-making.
- Manage accounting for business acquisitions and other complex transactions.
- Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
- Define and maintain corporate financial accounting policies related to revenue recognition, credit management, intercompany activity, balance sheet reconciliations, and other financial compliance activities.
- Collaborate closely with Group and Corporate accounting personnel to prepare initial accounting workpapers and journal entry support for complex transactions.
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support internal and external audit activities, statutory reporting, and other regulatory compliance.
- Manage business challenges that are broad and complex, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with organizational goals.
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 6+ years of Big 4 experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements for complex transactions.
- Proven experience managing month-end close processes and supporting audits in a large, diversified organization.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Oracle Cloud ERP or similar experience a plus.
