Mainframe Technical Lead - Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, CICS

Job Summary

The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading and managing Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Mainframe CICS projects. The role involves overseeing the technical development, maintenance, and support of mainframe applications while ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor a team of mainframe cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, mainframe cics developers in designing, developing, and testing mainframe applications.

2. Manage the full software development lifecycle of mainframe projects from requirements gathering to deployment.

3. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions that meet the needs of the organization.

4. Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure the quality of deliverables.

5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and mainframe cics applications.

6. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to recommend process improvements and innovative solutions.

7. Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations in all mainframe development activities.

Skill Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 10+ years on DXC Hogan platform

• Expert in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ

• Experience documenting and decommissioning legacy capabilities for cloud migration

• Strong production change-management discipline

• Nice-to-Have:

• Prior Hogan-to-cloud-core migration experience

• Exposure to ISO 20022 mapping

• CA Endevor or Changeman

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, Mainframe CICS are a plus.
