Platform Management Overview

The Alternatives Portfolio Management Group is dedicated to optimizing investor performance and experience. The Platform Management team within the Portfolio Management group is focused on driving day-to-day portfolio decision-making. This encompasses structuring and allocating deals, capital activity, managing liquidity, and maintaining disciplined risk management to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across portfolios with a focus on optimizing fund performance and investor experience. The Platform Management team partners with investment teams, capital markets, engineering and investor relations to achieve superior outcomes for AWM’s clients.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Perform daily liquidity management and prepare liquidity forecasts to evaluate current and projected funding needs, ensuring optimal fund performance. Develop liquidity recommendations and collaborate with stakeholder teams to execute capital activity and leverage facility actions.
  • Monitor investment guidelines and concentration limits, evaluate investment pacing, and conduct investable capital analysis for a subset of actively investing funds and separately managed accounts.
  • Facilitate portfolio allocations and investment closing logistics
  • Partner with various groups to advise on fundraising and fund structure creation
  • Facilitate deal execution, deal closing, portfolio management and harvesting activities. Partner with internal groups and external advisors to resolve legal, compliance, tax, accounting and operational hurdles.
  • Assist in responding to compliance and regulatory inquiries.
  • Track, report, and analyze detailed performance metrics.
  • Create management presentations, respond to ad hoc requests, and prepare analyses in support of those requests.
  • Support and advance technology initiatives related to the above responsibilities.

Required Experience:

  • 1-4 years of experience in a financial services setting
  • Strong analytical orientation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across internal and external teams
  • Financial acumen to prepare cash flows and performance metrics that impact investor returns and product performance.
  • Self-starter with strong desire to succeed in a fast paced, high pressure, results driven environment
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a small team, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Collaborative team player
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
