Who We Are
At Goldman Sachs, we connect people, capital and ideas to help solve problems for our clients. We are a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities and investment management services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals.
What we do
Front-office Strategists (“Strats”) are responsible for building quantitative and technological edge to drive business evolution within the firm’s Global Banking & Markets division. Some sit on individual trading desks, where they develop models to price derivatives, evaluate risks and hedges, and understand market behavior. Others work across desks, building large-scale quoting and risk platforms or optimize division-wide capital deployment, or across venues, pushing the frontiers of low-latency and algorithmic trading on exchanges and electronic channels. All play an integral role on the trading floor at the intersection of quant finance and commercial decision-making.
Responsibilities
As an IRP Strat, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Pricing and risk management of non-linear rates, from vanilla options to callable exotics: building, maintaining and enhancing pricing models, quantitative risk management and quoting methodologies, and tools used by the trading desk for complex risk analyses.
- Pricing and risk management of one-delta rates, from SOFR swaps to Treasury ETFs: synthesizing swap curves and NAV bases from market data, identifying relative-value opportunities across markets, and building out our systematic market-making strategy.
- Partnering with engineering teams to build and deploy scalable high-performance trading platforms which utilize cutting-edge proprietary and emerging technologies including cloud-based and AI architectures.
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or similar
- Strong programming experience, preferably in a high-performing language such as C/C++/Java or Python (with Num Py, Pandas, etc.)
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and quantitative finance, e.g. stochastic calculus or statistical arbitrage/signals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
