Investment Banking Operations: Investment Banking Operations is responsible for all operational functions for Investment Banking. We support all product flows and provide effective control for the firm’s Investment Banking strategy
We provide full lifecycle deal support across the Financing, Lending, and Advisory businesses. The Investment Banking Operations team is comprised of subject matter experts in onboarding, deal origination, structuring, execution, and servicing in addition to adherence to market and regulatory policies and standards. The Information Services Group manages and sources market data and research to facilitate deal solicitation, client service, and ongoing market analysis.
Principal responsibilities of the Syndicate Execution team are:
- ECM/DCM Syndicate execution support across APEJ markets – IPOs, block trades, convertible bonds
- Working on ECM/DCM transactions from pre-launch through to completion of all post pricing requirements
- Close coordination with other Syndicate banks to manage the bookbuilding and allocation process
- Ensuring MNPI is handled sensitively according to the Compliance & Regulatory framework
- Ad hoc reports and analysis – regulatory and for the IB team
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will sit on the ECM/DCM Syndicate desk in HK supporting all facets of APEJ execution
- Ensure all required postings & underwriting approvals are in place prior to transaction launch
- System set-up and deal creation using the Dealogic bookbuilding platform to facilitate execution
- You will manage the bookbuilding process including reviewing all orders via Sales into Dealogic
- You will release client allocations and handle any deal related queries from Sales during a transaction
- Work on all aspects post-pricing to ensure all regulatory and risk requirements are completed on time
- Liaise with Controllers, ECM/DCM & IB to ensure PnL is accurately recorded & all Syndicate fees are settled
- Work with League Table Agencies to ensure all GS transactions are credited accurately
- Provide ad hoc deal reporting , investor analysis & league table stats to senior ECM/DCM & Sales leadership
- Complete a range of daily & weekly ECM/DCM reporting on behalf of the Syndicate desk
- Work with the IB Ops teams globally to provide colour around the execution of APEJ transactions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The Ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex ideas
- Strong relationship skills with the ability to build networks
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Effective team player
- Self starter, able to work towards targets with minimal supervision
- Commercial awareness, able to understand the impact of the role on client experience and firm profitability
- Ability to drive projects and programmes across the team
- Mandarin / Cantonese language skills preferred
