We are looking for a motivated professional to join our team in Tokyo, where you will help shape the future of our business in Japan as well as the future of the Japanese investment management industry, in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management delivers investment and advisory services across public and private markets for institutions and individuals worldwide.
Product Development team in Japan is a sub-team of the Global Product Strategy, which is a part of both the Client Solutions Group and the Public Investing within the Asset & Wealth Management. The Global Product Strategy consists of specialized teams focused on Product Development, Strategy & Research for various pooled/registered vehicles across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions. The team evaluates and coordinates at all aspects of the strategy, research, analysis, design, management, and development of new and existing product vehicles for client distribution across third party wealth, institutional, consultant, insurance, and retirement channels. The team specializes in products mostly comprised of public securities, but also helps facilitate and support initiatives for separately managed accounts, private funds, and public/private products.
Responsibilities

Partner with internal and external stakeholders on research activities for a given industry topic, and consolidate into deliverables. Such topics may include private assets, corporate governance, stewardship, regulatory, product governance, digital transformation of asset management infrastructure, among many others. Deliverables may be in form of minutes, presentations, summary documents.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to form our product strategy.

Communicate regularly with global teams cross-functionally to contribute to global initiatives as well as promoting Japan specific initiatives.

Play an active role in our product governance initiatives, for our ongoing product improvements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree required.
-
Native level in Japanese language
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
-
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
-
Goal-oriented and organized, with strong time management abilities.
-
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and regions.
-
2 - 6 years of experience in consultancy firms, research firms or asset management firms, with project management background.

Experience in asset management or financial business preferred.
-
Strong capability to thoroughly analyze details as well as having good macro view of events.
