BUSINESS SEGMENT AND ROLE OVERVIEW: ABOUT DIGITAL ASSETS
Goldman Sachs is at the forefront of innovation in financial services, and our Digital Assets team is a critical driver of this evolution. We are rapidly expanding our presence in Europe and are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Vice President to join our London-based team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead, innovate, and drive significant commercial impact in the execution of our global Digital Assets strategy, operating at the intersection of traditional finance and cutting-edge blockchain technology.
The Digital Assets team, part of our Global Banking and Markets – Public division, holds a firmwide and cross-divisional mandate. Our core focus is to define and execute Goldman Sachs’ Digital Assets strategy across the firm, encompassing both tokenisation initiatives and cryptocurrency efforts. What You'll Do:
As a Digital Assets Vice President, you will hold a leadership role within our London team, driving innovation and delivering tangible commercial outcomes across the firm’s digital asset strategy. Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- providing strategic advice and thought leadership to internal stakeholders and clients, actively shaping Goldman Sachs’ digital assets product offerings and strategic direction.
- leveraging understanding of financial products and market structure to identify and execute on new commercially viable tokenisation initiatives.
- drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle and oversee the execution of various tokenisation initiatives across public and private markets. This includes ensuring commercial viability, market adoption, and delivering measurable business impact.
- enhancing collateral mobility and developing digital money solutions, by applying deep expertise in financial products and market structure.
- acting as a senior point of contact and thought leader, engaging daily with industry experts and stakeholders, both internal and external, who are exploring tokenisation or cryptocurrencies, shaping market dialogue and identifying strategic partnerships.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in financial services, ideally gained from a leading investment bank, consulting firm, corporate, or asset manager, with a demonstrable track record of commercial success and delivering business impact.
- Financial Product & Market Structure Expertise: Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of various financial products (e.g., fixed income, equities, derivatives) and a comprehensive understanding of market structure, including trading, clearing, settlement, and regulatory frameworks.
- Digital Assets Expertise: In-depth knowledge and demonstrated strong interest in digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, with practical experience in relevant projects or initiatives.
- Intellectual Curiosity: High intellectual curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for thinking outside the box and driving innovation.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional senior-level interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with a proven ability to present complex information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior management and clients, to influence decision-making, secure commercial opportunities, and build strong relationships.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is essential for managing complex projects and transactions.
- Problem Solving: Strong creative thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to navigate ambiguous situations, deliver effective solutions, and drive tangible business value.
- Teamwork & Leadership: A motivated team player with proven leadership and mentorship capabilities, with a track record of fostering high-performing teams, driving collective success, and taking ownership of key initiatives.
- Language: Fluent in English. Proficiency in additional continental languages is a significant plus.
