BANK COMPLIANCE OVERVIEW
Goldman Sachs Bank USA (“Bank”) is a New York State-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. Bank Compliance is a team within the Global Compliance Division and is responsible for executing overall strategy for and implementation of the Bank’s compliance program, a component of the firmwide risk management program.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a junior compliance professional at the analyst / senior analyst level to support the Bank Compliance team with a primary focus on (i) matters related to Regulation W compliance regarding the Bank’s transactions with affiliates and (ii) the determination of Bank eligibility for lending and certain other activities transacted in the Bank. The position requires analytical skills to review transactions of varying complexity to identify bank regulatory impacts; the ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail; and satisfying high priority and time-sensitive deliverables on a day-to-day basis. The candidate will be required to interact and manage workflow involving both business (e.g., Global Banking & Markets, Asset & Wealth Management) and Federation groups (e.g., Legal, Operations).
The candidate’s responsibilities would include:
- Review and determination of Bank eligibility for debt investment and lending activity
- Understanding, applying, and providing advice on applicable bank regulations (e.g., Regulations W, K, and O)
- Support and provide guidance on new business initiatives conducted in Bank
- Cross-departmental project management and involvement
- Assist with regulatory and internal investigations and audits
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry
- Ability to understand and apply complex prudential banking regulation
- Analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking with a proven track record of execution against deadlines
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise strong judgment when executing an assigned task
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with an ability to learn new tools quickly
