Introduction:

This role will be within the Infrastructure Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization at Global Foundries IT. The ISD organization's primary focus is on building, developing, and delivering infrastructure that effectively addresses business requirements and opportunities, while ensuring a robust, sustainable, and standardized platform for Operations to manage.

Your Job:

  • Ensure all IT solutions follow agreed architectural methodologies.

  • Manage business requirements, contain development costs, and reduce the time to delivery.

  • Ensure the quality and security of IT Infrastructure platforms.

  • Deploy stable and flexible IT infrastructure enabling easy maintenance and updates for future demand.

  • Ensure infrastructure reliability by design, including disaster recovery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the ITIL Availability Management process for enterprise storage and backup services, ensuring agreed availability, resilience, and recoverability targets are met.

  • Define, monitor, and report on availability, reliability, and capacity KPIs for storage platforms including SAN, NAS, object and backup systems.

  • Data Protection: Implement and manage data protection strategies, including backups, replication, and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical business data.

  • Perform and coordinate regular restore testing, DR exercises, and failover validation to validate data recoverability and service continuity.

  • Develop and implement storage solutions using Net App technologies that align with our business requirements and objectives.

  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure sufficient storage resources are available to meet current and future demands.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with service owners, infrastructure teams, and vendors to improve storage service availability and reduce single points of failure.

  • Training: Provide training and guidance to junior team members and other IT staff on storage technologies and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience with 10+ years of experience.

  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, such as CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.

  • Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

  • Familiarity with VMware.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
