Introduction
Reporting to the VP Product Management and Marketing, Power Product Line at Global Foundries, the Business Development Manager (BDM), Power BU is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth and market expansion for the Power Business Unit across China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Based in China, this role serves as a regional growth leader, identifying new opportunities, expanding key customer relationships, and shaping go-to-market strategies in close partnership with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering. This role is both externally focused—deeply embedded with customers and ecosystem partners—and internally influential, ensuring regional market needs are reflected in product roadmaps, investment priorities, and long-term strategy.
The preferred location is Shanghai, China.
Job Responsibilities
Regional Business Growth & Strategy
-
Own and drive Power BU business growth across China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.

Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with BU revenue and market share objectives.
-
Identify new growth vectors, including:
Strategic customers and accounts
-
Emerging applications and platforms
-
Ecosystem partners (ODM/OEMs, module vendors, foundries, integrators)
-
Provide regional market intelligence to inform long-term BU strategy.
Customer & Ecosystem Engagement
-
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key customers and partners across the region.
-
Act as a trusted advisor to customers on power architecture, roadmap alignment, and long-term collaboration.
-
Drive early engagement on next-generation platforms to influence design-ins and design wins.
-
Support strategic negotiations, joint development discussions, and long-term agreements.
Design Win & Revenue Pipeline Development
-
Drive high-quality design win pipeline creation aligned with Power BU priorities.

Partner closely with regional Sales teams to:
Shape account strategies

Prioritize opportunities
-
Remove barriers to design wins
-
Ensure strong handoff from business development → sales execution → product ramp, maintaining continuity through the lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Leadership
-
Serve as the regional voice of the customer to Product Management and Engineering.

Influence product roadmaps, feature priorities, and platform investments based on regional needs.

Collaborate with Marketing on regional positioning, messaging, and customer-facing content.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
-
Track regional market trends, customer roadmaps, and competitive dynamics.

Provide actionable insights on:
Competitor positioning
-
Pricing dynamics
-
Technology inflection points
-
Regularly brief BU and executive leadership on regional opportunities and risks.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Materials Science or related field
-
12+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or product marketing within semiconductors, power management, or related hardware industries
-
Proven experience driving business across multiple Asian markets, ideally including China, Korea, Taiwan, and/or Japan
-
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority in a global, matrixed organization
-
Strong executive communication and negotiation skills
-
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the region
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Strong understanding of power technologies and system-level applications
-
Established relationships with Tier-1 OEMs, ODMs, and ecosystem partners in the region
-
Experience working with global headquarters teams outside of China
-
Bilingual or multilingual capabilities
Mandarin required
- Korean or Japanese a strong plus
