Introduction

This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement and sustaining the effectiveness of quality systems to ensure world‑class standards for production materials and subcontractor services. It also oversees the management and development of key commodity suppliers, critical consumables subcontractors, and calibration service providers to meet Global Foundries’ quality objectives and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive & develop suppliers / subcontractors to provide consistent, good quality product & service through execution & continuous enhancement of the following activities / systems:

  • Supplier capability assessment & qualification process

  • Supplier Performance rating

  • Supplier Business review

  • Supplier Quality System audit

  • Review Suppliers’ SPC program & drive for continuous improvement

  • Commodity Strategic Teams

  • Leads issue resolution pertaining to quality of product or services provided by suppliers / subcontractors

  • Continuous effort to streamline SQC procedures for productivity improvement

  • Manage change request from suppliers / subcontractors, ensuring no disruption to the material supply

  • Ensure on time follow-up on implementation of effective Corrective / Preventive actions or improvement plans identified through audit, performance rating, CAR etc

  • Drive for compliance to ISO/IATF for key suppliers

  • Maintain Approved Supplier List

  • Lead internal / cross-functional teams in problem solving / benchmarking / continual improvement programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Materials, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Bachelor’s + 5~8 years, Master’s + 3~5 years, or PhD + 2~3 years in semiconductor/electronics or similar industries.

  • Demonstrated leadership in supplier quality management, advanced analytics, and cross-functional project execution.

  • Strong knowledge of SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA etc, and advanced statistical methods.

  • Preferably with semiconductor materials knowledge

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and mentoring skills.

  • Effective collaboration with cross-function and global supplier quality teams; and ability to drive change at all levels.
