Job Description:
Key responsibilities
- People Leader: Manages Head Office Medical Affairs Team and field-based Medical Science Liaison Team Leader and/or field MSL team. Mentors and develops junior employees.
- Project involvement: Initiates and supervises plan of action and special projects within their geography.
Key Differentiating Contribution
- Identifies and addresses audience needs through people/patient-centered discussions and dissemination of scientific information.
- Recognized by their audience as a therapeutic area resource for disease and treatment information.
- Reviews and approves promotional material within a therapeutic area.
- May serve as an internal training resource within a therapeutic area.
- May develop and introduce smaller programs and post-approval clinical trials to the healthcare community and follow-up with funded studies.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides independent thought and initiative in the preparation and completion of a variety of strategic and tactical plans of action, projects and reports. Supports reimbursement submissions for health technology appraisals across UK and Ireland.
- Uses a degree of autonomy as needed in the preparation and completion of projects and reports.
- Establishes relationships with sales teams and external contacts; participates in special projects based on extensive knowledge base, experience and competency.
- Anticipates obstacles and difficulties that may arise and resolves them in a collaborative manner.
- Utilizes scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Sought out for advice and collaboration by others from within and outside Gilead.
- Must have the ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap such as international/above country teams, business unit, national MS team, regional key account management including sales team, national accounts, and others.

Typical Education and Experience
- Advanced degree (i.e. MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, NP/PA) required.
- Must have at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Industry experience is essential; including significant ABPI Code review experience and ideally signatory status.
- Clinical practice experience within therapeutic area of interest is strongly preferred.
