Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Blanc, MI on a full-time basis with travel to Pontiac, MI as needed.
The Role
We are seeking a Process Engineer for new machine installation and commissioning, responsible for defining, planning, executing, and validating the launch of new manufacturing equipment. This role ensures that all machines are installed to specification, safely commissioned, and fully integrated into production with optimized performance, reliability, and quality. The engineer will collaborate cross‑functionally with Facilities, Maintenance, Controls, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety, and external vendors to ensure seamless deployment and readiness for production.
What You’ll Do

Coordinate all engineering activities related to new manufacturing process development and execution, including RESS assembly, machining technologies, and various marine applications.

Serve as a key communication link between cross‑functional support teams to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.

Collaborate with multiple work groups to achieve program targets, metrics, and deliverables.

Develop Statements of Requirements (SORs) for new equipment and support the procurement process.

Support G‑Risk, ROT, installation, debug, runoff, and G‑Comply activities for new equipment deployment.

Support PPAP activities to ensure process readiness and compliance.
-
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and drive effective resolutions.

Lead lessons‑learned collection and ensure feedback is integrated into future programs.

Provide technical and program management support to meet all program requirements.
-
Prepare and present program and equipment status updates to leadership as needed.

Maintain strong communication across GM functions, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Identify required hardware and test equipment and develop SORs for procurement of process and test systems.
-
Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts for project completion.
-
Follow and support Safety Contract Management processes to ensure compliance and safe installation practices.

Communicate status updates and technical assessments to team members through meetings, documentation, and reports.

Stay current on emerging technologies and competitive products to inform future process improvements.
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
-
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or15+ years of equivalent industry experience
-
7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing
-
Proven experience coordinating and leading complex projects
-
Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams to execute high‑pressure, fast‑paced projects effectively
-
Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills to collaborate across all levels of the organization
-
Strong teamwork and partnership skills, with the ability to share knowledge and learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment
-
Ability to prioritize workload, manage resources, and lead indirectly across functions
-
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience engineering complex mechanical or electrical systems
-
Experience in manufacturing project management and execution
-
Experience developing system‑level PFMEAs
-
Solid understanding of engineering theory and the principles of mechanical and electrical system operation
-
High level of analytical ability with proven success solving complex, multi‑dimensional problems

High-Voltage Level 1 certification
