Manager, Global Knowledge Solutions Company: General Mills About the Role We are seeking a highly analytical PhD Chemical Engineer to apply advanced modeling and simulation methodologies to solve complex food process and product design challenges.

This role sits within ITQ’s Nutrition, Technology & Science organization at General Mills India Center and partners globally to drive innovation, efficiency, and product quality.

You will combine first-principles engineering, multiphysics modeling, and data-driven approaches to design, optimize, and scale next-generation food processes.

Key Responsibilities Technical Excellence (70%) Apply chemical/mechanical engineering fundamentals (fluid mechanics, heat & mass transfer, reaction kinetics, process dynamics).

Develop mechanistic, multiphysics, and hybrid (physics + ML) models.

Use process/system modeling, CAE, CFD, CAD, and programming tools (Python/VB).

Design and execute experiments for model validation and scale-up.

Deliver data-driven insights to improve process efficiency and product quality.

Business Partnership (15%) Translate stakeholder needs into clear project objectives.

Provide timely updates and deliver high-impact solutions.

Innovation & Development (10%) Advance modeling methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stay current with emerging simulation and data science tools.

Administration (5%) Support mandatory trainings and organizational activities.

Minimum Qualifications PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Strong expertise in mechanistic and physics-based modeling.

Advanced data analytics and simulation experience.

Proven scientific rigor and problem-solving ability.

Industrial internship experience.

Strong communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Preferred 2–3 years experience with gPROMS or Aspen Custom Modeler.

Proficiency in CFD and CAD tools.
