OVERVIEW The Pet Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Labeling Specialist works in support of the Pet Segment and plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality and safe products in the market for pets and pet parents.

This position will work collaboratively with R&D, Creative, Marketing, and Regulatory team counterparts to ensure all North America Pet-branded products sold have product labels and claims that are accurate, truthful, not misleading, and comply with General Mills requirements. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Partner with marketing and product development teams to ensure accurate and compliant labeling and substantiated product claims Create ingredient statements and verify guaranteed analysis in Optiva PLM Perform artwork review and approval across dry, wet, and/or treat product platforms to ensure labels comply with applicable regulations and their approvals are delivered to meet project timelines and reduce risk of an in-market incident.

Stay current on labeling requirements Work with marketing and product development teams to ensure accurate and compliant labeling and substantiated product claims on pack Maintain understanding of project pipelines that will impact label changes Ensure documentation and verification to support product claim, AAFCO Natural and True Blue Promise Monitor status of regulatory changes or changes impacting product labels Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for regulatory or labeling issues Be a positive change agent and provide leadership in building new processes, tools, and ways of working across functions in the space of claims and labeling in a rapidly changing environment MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience working in the food or pet food space with relevant work experience Ability to manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities, and work effectively with a variety of people, teams, and departments Ability to experiment and make data-based recommendations leveraging risk assessment skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to work strongly with technology (Microsoft Office and other tools) Strong attention to detail and the ability to navigate multiple tasks at the same time with agility PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree in Nutrition, Food Law, Food Regulatory, or other related fields Pet experience Working knowledge and understanding of FDA regulations & the AAFCO Official Publication Demonstrated leadership and taking initiative Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to deal with constant change and ambiguity Highly organized and proactive in addressing issues and seeking improvement opportunities Ability to train and develop others individually and in teams ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, and General Mills will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.

Salary: Range The salary range for this position is $70100.00 - $105200.00 / Annually.
