Frozen Meat Operator, Blue Buffalo

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE: Perform tasks in the meat and meat receiving area working as a team member to make sure that food products are received and processed according to quality specifications and customer expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to operate equipment to produce products for customers. Responsible for product movement. Assure quality and safety standards are adhered to. Knowledge of machinery upkeep and operation. Tracking and rotation of product. Ability to perform sanitation tasks as assigned. Communicate and work as a Team Member. Assist other team members in completion of work. Communicate with fellow employees to complete task and adhere to all company policies, SOP’s and standards. Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required. Ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in the area. Properly tag and track all process waste material so it can be reused or disposed of correctly. Maintain process area repair and effectively communicating with maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Work mandatory overtime as required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP’s, and safety documents. Flexibility to switch shifts as required. Record keeping, and organizational skills. Ability to read, write and understand English. Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Must be able to calculate totals, percentages, and operate some computerized equipment. High School Diploma or GED. Understands the importance of safety and quality. Ability to plan work on a daily basis, work independently and be a self-starter and a highly motivated individual. Know all LOTO procedures for your area. PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE: 2 or more years in food manufacturing with production floor experience. Detail oriented and able to multi-task. Vast knowledge of fresh and frozen product lines as well as packaging requirements.
