Starting Rate: $22.19 per hour Shift Differential: Additional $.34 per hour for 2nd shift and $.42 per hour for 3rd shift Shift Schedules: 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm OR 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am The General Mills-Kansas City plant operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Changes in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime. Forklift Operators must be willing to work any shift including days, nights and weekends. Main Responsibilities In this role, you will: Primary responsibility is to load product from the lines, scan into WMS/Red Prairie and load truck/railcar orders. Set out loading orders for the day at Dock 5, or Dock 4. Coordinate customer pick-up loads Coordinate inbound and outbound orders with Geo, Barclay, and Metro. Take pallet count to assure supply of pallets and communicate information to Transportation Assure proper placement of trailers at Dock 5, or Dock 4, to assure correct distribution of product. Account for any hold product at Dock 5, or Dock 4 Refeed or rework any hold pallets Assist in preventive maintenance and minor maintenance work when needed. Operate Red Prairie Warehouse Management System Issue and return raw materials for Line 7 in and out of WMS/Red Prairie (when working at Dock 4) Launch and complete orders in WMS or Red Prairie, Inspect trailers that are brought in for loading Work with DDC’s to maintain and reworking product in the re-work area (bullpen) Communicate with team leaders and other drivers regarding issues with equipment, special instructions, and carry-overs Communicate with packing/Bisquick/maintenance for equipment issues, down times and changeovers Coordinate USDA shipments and quantities. Must use specific equipment/machinery related to the position including but not limited to; stretch wrappers, forklift, broom, shovel, and pallet inverter. Operate and maintain forklift and conduct forklift inspection daily. Maintain forklift batteries and ensure the proper paperwork is completed Perform any base work necessary for Warehouse Operations assigned by management Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship High School Diploma or GED Effective written and oral communication skills Proficiency in basic computer skills Willing and able for drive a forklift and pass certification to operate Must be able to lift, move, push, pull up to 55 lbs, including lifting bales/cases of product up to 50 lbs and lifting/pushing wooden pallets up to 55 lbs Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, squating, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces Must be able to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions Must be able to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs,ladders, personal lifts, or platforms Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends including daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week) Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required Work with allergens that might be present in a food environment Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated leadership ability COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
