Data Engineer

General Mills has built in China 4 modern production bases, which are located in Sanhe of Hebei Province, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Nanjing respectively. In addition, it has 3 central kitchens in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangzhou, a R&D Center in Shanghai, and more than 400 Häagen-Dazs stores. Key Job Responsibility Proactively maintain all enterprise data platforms to a standard level of service. Work with functional teams and architects to determine best practices for the future of Big Data / Enterprise Data. Turn information into insight for improved business performance by consulting with architects, solution managers, and analysts to turn requirements into technical design Create and maintain development patterns, standards, processes and norms. Analyze existing processes and user development requirements to ensure maximum efficiency. Ensure operational continuity through design reviews, code reviews, release management and system monitoring. Troubleshoot technical and performance problems in enterprise data platforms Mentor others on the team and other technical teams within General Mills Identify the need for and develop documentation for support and process changes. Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree 2 - 4 years of ETL Developer/Architect experience with experience with some of the following; SAP Data Services, SSIS, Python, Kafka, Informatica, Talend or others 2 - 4 experience with various database platforms including Oracle, Hadoop and/or SAP HANA ETL framework design, implementation, and management experience. Process modeling to drive out end user requirements Experience with enterprise batch scheduling tools and techniques Experience with data modeling Ability to effectively communicate complex structures in a simple fashion to variety of audiences (e.g. management, business partners, analysts and technical experts) Experience in reporting / hierarchies Cross-functional work to create integrated enterprise solutions Familiar with key e Commerce data platform including Tmall, JD, VIP, etc. Good English language skill Experience work with global teams Self-Motivated, able to work individually, as well as part of a team Proactive research into up to date technology or techniques for development and/or reporting Proven strong customer service orientation and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies. Track record as a strong team player with effective teamwork and communication skills.
