Packaging Engineer II

As a Packaging Engineer II, you will be responsible for driving impact and leading packaging innovation, renovation, and CI initiatives across our General Mills product platforms. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Ideate, lead, and execute experiential packaging initiatives in collaboration with Brand Experience and Brand Marketing Develop new structural packaging designs in support of renovation, innovation, and HMM as needed Knowledge of product/ packaging interactions and results on product protection through shelf life. Knowledge of designing for distribution, channel and customer requirements. Ability to understand and apply machine material interactions through the design process. Knowledge of packaging material testing for the purpose of specification creation and trouble shooting. Champion these designs across the business and all x functional partners such as operations, logistics, sourcing, finance, Product and process R&D. Lead new packaging startups across our manufacturing locations and partner with internal / external supply chain needs (capacity, line qualifications, etc.) Support execution of recyclability and sustainability glidepath. Ability to create prototypes and passion for Consumer First Design as related to packaging moments of truth. Ability to work within specification, graphics and pallet design programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors in Chemical, Mechanical, Material Science or Packaging Engineering. 2+ Years of Packaging R&D experience Ability to manage multiple projects independently in fast paced environment. Strong leadership and strategic thinking.
