Machining Process engineer develops and improves production processes, primarily in the field of machining processes. In this role you will have the responsibility to verify the capacity and efficiency of the machinery, as well as compliance with safety standards. In these areas, you will work towards continuous process improvement through targeted interventions.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities

Supports Avio Aero's continuous improvement process, which unfolds within the pillars S (safety), Q (quality), D (delivery), and P (productivity and cost), directly identifying the root causes of failures, identifying appropriate countermeasures, and implementing them.

Supports technological improvement in the area in which it operates and the technological pyramid within which its action will be integrated, either by directly leading projects for the introduction of new technologies or by supporting those already underway.

Conducts machinery capacity studies, taking into account efficiency dynamics (OEE%) to ensure that they are always sufficient to meet customer requirements.

Drafts technical specifications to adapt machinery for purposes related to EHS improvements (e.g., machine guarding), or quality performance improvements, or adaptation to new NC/PLC technologies (e.g., retrofit or revamping), and other needs.

Drafts technical specifications for the purchase of new machinery, evaluating the specific technical characteristics in accordance with the product to be processed, its dimensions, geometric tolerances, number and types of tools, and volumes over time.

Evaluates the technical offers received using a technical comparison matrix, which compares the proposals and selects the best technical solutions.

Oversees the acquisition process of capital goods, from order placement to testing at the supplier, installation, and testing at Avio Aero, verifying compliance with the selected specifications and regulatory requirements.

Assists production during the period in which the capital goods are under warranty, ensuring that the supplier intervenes to perform adjustments or resolve any faults that may arise.
Qualifications/Requirements
-
High school diploma in mechanical, mechatronic, or aeronautical engineering (or other qualification strongly similar to the above) with direct experience in the production of metalworking components, especially aeronautical ones.

Knowledge of machine tools: machine systems, linear and rotary axes, tool and workpiece handling components, fixtures, cutting tools, etc.

Ability to read mechanical engineering drawings and technical specifications (standards, procedures, international standards, etc.)

Ability to use 3D modeling software for the most typical parts involved in a machining process: cutting tools, fixtures, to perform mechanical work on aluminum, magnesium, and steel parts.
Ability to select the most suitable cutting tools for machining aluminum, magnesium, and steel parts, based on the part drawing (dimensional and geometric tolerances).

Ability to define, design, and acquire clamping fixtures for the part to be machined on the CNC machine.

Significant experience in manufacturing in the mechanical sector (preferably in the aeronautics sector).

Fluent Italian. Fluent technical English is a strong advantage.

Work Visa in accordance with local regulations
