Job Description Summary

In this role, you will oversee one or more Payroll, Payment and Time processes end-to-end, developing an in-depth understanding of systems, processes, and legislative rules. Ensuring all related statutory and salary related payments are executed correctly. You will identify trends and process improvements, own daily operations (including outsourcing and audits), and collaborate across internal operations and GE Aerospace teams to resolve issues. This role primarily supports GE Aerospace employees, people leaders, and HR partners in India.

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is GE Aerospace’s multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview:

  • Provide oversight and execute on one or more Payroll & Time process(es) including work direction, prioritization, and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and quality to ensure compliance with relevant legal and GE Aerospace policy requirements.
  • Resolve complex processing issues and escalations for internal and external customers while promoting “Best in Class” customer service.
  • Manage metrics, monthly reviews, escalations, disaster recovery testing, and year-end coordination.
  • Manage 3rd Party Payroll and Time Providers to ensure seamless, compliant, and high-quality Payroll & Time services.
  • Develop broad knowledge of Payroll &Time processing procedures to ensure successful execution.
  • Be the policy expert and be able to work with policy owners on design ideas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across Finance functions, the broader Workforce Experience and Insight Team, and the HR Client Delivery team, to ensure open communications that support an effective partnership across our HR and business community as well as employees and People Leaders
  • Work collaboratively across internal teams and establish strong working relationships within GE Aerospace and key stakeholders in solving complex issues.
  • Be the Payroll & Time expert in system functionality, business processes, and audits
  • Proactively identify and drive continuous improvements within assigned processes, work closely with cross functional teams to proposing process improvements to reduce waste & manual work, align to global standards and increase productivity.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional project efforts between key operational processing areas including but not limited to process improvement project plans, tracking, and reporting progress, and ensuring adherence to deadlines and project methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience into Payments, Salary/ Payroll, Register Management with expertise into managing tools like Ramco or any similar tool
  • Country Specific Requirements
  • Fluency in English knowledge both verbal and written
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area
  • Significant prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement in Payroll, Payment and Time & attendance, and/or Operations/Service-oriented environment, ideally in a multi-national organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, rapidly changing environment across multiple stakeholder groups and countries with comfort and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications: . Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll, Payment and Time & Attendance

  • Strong customer service focus with high responsiveness and the ability to anticipate customer needs; solid interpersonal skills and a supportive team-player mindset.
  • Proficiency in HR, Payroll and Benefit systems (ex. Workday) and technologies
  • Ability to quickly embrace new technologies
  • Experience establishing and maintaining customer and supplier relationships
  • Supportive team player with a drive to create a positive work environment
  • Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality
  • Passion for continuous process improvement and simplification
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve challenges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and operate as a self-starter with minimal supervision. Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Effective verbal and written communication across all organizational levels; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
