Role Summary

As a Bench Repair Parts Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the repair and maintenance of aircraft gas turbine components. This position involves precision work to restore parts and assemblies to proper dimensions using technical drawings, sketches, and instructions. You will operate a variety of machine tools and perform rework operations to ensure components meet GE Aerospace’s high standards for quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Layout and Rework: Restore aircraft gas turbine parts or assemblies to specified dimensions based on blueprints, sketches, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Machining Operations: Operate a variety of machine tools, including mills, drill presses, surface and hand grinders, and saws.
  • Repair and Modification: Perform rework tasks such as dimensional adjustments, re-tapping holes, repairing minor defects (e.g., nicks), and installing new studs or inserts.
  • Tool Utilization: Use a diverse range of hand tools to complete repair and assembly tasks.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed and adhere to all safety and quality standards.
  • Additional Duties: Support related tasks as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience with drill presses, grinders (hand and surface), saws, and general part repair.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of hand tools and machining equipment.
