Job Description Summary
The Executive Leader of Security Transportation and Operational Risk Mitigation (STORM) will be part of a dynamic security team providing security solutions which enable GE Aerospace to deliver exceptional executive protection, event and transportation security. This role will serve as the primary business focal responsible for providing strategy and direction of our global management personnel in the protection of its Executives. This position is critical in maintaining the highest standards of security and safety for GE Aerospace’s leadership and assets. This role demands a commitment beyond traditional office hours to ensure the successful completion of responsibilities, which may involve non-standard working hours, including evenings, weekends, or extended hours as necessary. This role will report directly to the Chief Security Officer.This position requires a seasoned collaborative leader with strong business acumen and experience in leading dynamic, high paced teams, experience managing large budgets, and the ability to align security initiatives with business objectives while driving innovation and continuous improvement. Specialized experience in executive protection team management, including special event security oversight and executive transportation is desired. Additionally, a demonstrated knowledge of the role of intelligence in operations within a rapidly growing business will be a must. The successful candidate is a thought leader, a mentor, a collaborator, a complex problem solver and an integrator of processes, people, and technology. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with the most senior levels of the business and other global security functions as a peer. Direct experience in a comparable leadership role managing a highly dynamic geographically dispersed organization with a multimillion-dollar budget is a must. This role requires the ability to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Any Executive within the GE Aerospace Global Security Team must additionally possess experience within the following security disciplines: personnel, information, industrial, physical, crisis management and insider threat.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Vision and Strategy:
Set a clear vision and strategy for the organization.
Influence strategic initiatives beyond the immediate organization, across the business, and with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Oversight:
Provide direction to team leaders and employees in executive protection, event security, and executive transportation.
Supervise performance, behavior, and results based on established operating procedures, guidelines, and expectations.
Integration with Business Objectives:
Align security and protection strategies seamlessly with overarching business objectives.
Ensure security initiatives align with executive goals and enterprise-wide priorities.
Innovation and Excellence:
Drive innovation and excellence in security measures to support the enterprise's strategic vision.
Coordination and Deployment:
Ensure clear lines of deployment for special events and transportation teams.
Maintain strong coordination with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
Project Management:
Oversee direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of protective services projects and education initiatives.
Benchmarking and Industry Trends:
Develop and implement procedures based on benchmarking and industry trends, including technology, automation, directives, and standard operating procedures.
Training and Quality Control:
Be responsible for training, metrics, and quality control for all protective services (executive protection, event security, and executive transportation).
Strategic Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and lead protective services team members in all activities and emerging issues.
Establish scalable programs to meet business needs.
Lean Practices and Process Improvement:
Align protective services team using lean practices, unified processes, standard work, tools, metrics, and outcomes.
Create and implement processes for continuous improvement, including metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
Financial Accountability:
Own financial budget and accountability with strong metrics.
Talent Development:
Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
Guide hiring, establish retention plans, and create opportunities for talent development.
- Build a diverse workforce aligned with organizational vision and technical/domain expertise.
Minimum Qualifications:
LEOSA Certified
Minimum of 3+ Years Corporate Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college
Minimum 20 years of in law enforcement
Minimum 10 years of leadership roles in law enforcement or corporate security
Must have an active or be able to achieve a Do
D Top Security Clearance:
Experience leading a globally dispersed workforce
Demonstrated experience managing a multi-million dollar budget
Desired Skills:
Professional experience in classified security programs
Experience leading and influencing global cross-functional teams/projects.
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint.
Strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve.
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways.
Self-motivated, self-directed, flexible, and able to work under pressure and in fast paced team environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.
