Job Description Summary

As part of the GE India Multi-modal Manufacturing team, the Assistant Engineer- Supplier Quality inspector is responsible for establishing an efficient and continually improving Supplier quality systems as per AS 9100 / ISO 9001 and internal GE QMS norms. Own & drive key Quality deliverables in the projects including analysis & certifying aviation hardware per internal quality inspection requirements.

Site Overview:

Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components, supporting not only India’s defense and commercial sectors but also global aviation supply chains. Our relationships with Indian suppliers, combined with our world-class local facilities and global reach, continue to shape India’s aerospace ecosystem.

Role Overview:

  • The position will report to the Quality Engineer / Manager.
  • Prepare regular supplier quality reports, scorecards, and summaries for internal reviews.
  • Work with incoming, operations and logistics to resolve supplier‑related issues.
  • Contribute to continual improvement through audit programs, assessment / of various non-conformances and driving corrective actions identified through Root Cause Analysis.
  • Create and manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) related to supplier materials.
  • Co-ordination with supplier for Coupon testing/ Sample part related activities
  • Assist with collection of data and evidence for root cause analysis and corrective action verification.
  • Taking responsibility for closing actions and following up with suppliers until issues are resolved.
  • Work closely with manufacturing / production & Quality system teams to develop and implement AS 9100 procedures & systems & support driving end to end supplier quality issue resolution

The Ideal Candidate:

  • oriented supplier quality associate with strong analytical skills, experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions, and a proactive approach to driving supplier performance to meet stringent quality and on-time delivery requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Class Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • 4-5 Years of Experience in Production quality
  • Experience in Aviation industry in the fields of aviation quality inspection & product acceptance is added advantage,
  • Working knowledge of AS 9100 and internal requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T, drawings & specifications interpretation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge on dimensional inspection methodologies.
  • Addressing line supplier quality help calls & providing solution.
  • Stock sweep & analysis.
  • Actively contributing to non-conformance event management & analysis.
