Roles and Responsibilities
The Advanced Lead Engineer – MBE Technology is responsible for execution and complete delivery on projects that advance data continuity and collaboration during product development and manufacture. Role requires highly collaborative individual with initiative to develop new ideas and implement change.
The role reports to the MBE Capability Development Manager within Engineering. The team mission is to build a GE Aerospace digital ecosystem enabling GE Edison Works to deliver new state-of-the-art propulsion systems at the fastest rate possible. The role will ensure as part of the model based transformation, manufacturing process artifacts are created, maintained, and managed with precision and compliance. This role ensures that these artifacts are traceable, and can be effectively utilized on a shop floor.
This role is based in Evendale, OH.
Essential Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross function teams leveraging experience and technical competency to meet Model Based Design-Manufacturing-Inspection (MB-DMI) objectives

Define and deliver solutions to improve the manufacturing engineering way of working including standard process, tools and data management

Lead cross-functional teams to ensure MBM data is accurate, complete, and traceable

Demonstrate an ability to communicate the technical knowledge through project management/contributions

Collaborate closely with end-users to deeply understand their pain points, needs, and the functional requirements of their workflows are met

Perform testing and validation to ensure processes and tools meet end-user need
-
Champion the deployment and adoption of standard ways of working across manufacturing engineering teams

Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in MBMI and related technologies

Communicate roadmap and progress to subject matter experts, program leaders, and business leaders
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in STEM from accredited university or college
-
5+ years of relevant experience
-
Experience with MES or PLM software
-
Strong oral and written communication skills
-
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance

2+ years of experience in an aerospace

Knowledge of PMI reuse in Manufacturing & Quality

Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and interactions with MES

Knowledge of product characteristic traceability

Knowledge of product definition standards and GD&T

Experience using Siemens NX CAM, CMM programming and Teamcenter

Experience using Solumina for Manufacturing Operations

Experience with MBD related standards (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, ASME Y14.47, MILSTD-31000B) and interoperable file formats (STEP 242, QIF, JT)
