Job Description Summary

The Communications Director, India will be responsible for building and implementing a communications strategy to strengthen and protect the GE Aerospace brand and reputation in India. This position will cover: Reputation & Thought Leadership, Media Relations, Public Affairs, and brand/paid media support.

  • This role is based in New Delhi

Role Overview:

  • Regional Communications & Brand Leadership: Act as the communications leader for the region to drive an integrated GE Aerospace narrative spanning both our commercial and defense work, engineering and supply chain to build the brand’s reputation in India. Effective use of earned and paid mechanism to connect with local stakeholders.

  • Public Affairs: Support government affairs team in region to further key business priorities, policy issues or managing crisis in region, including message development and third-party/stakeholder engagement.

  • Media Relations: Build relationships with major national and regional/international media to drive proactive storytelling. Responsible for written communications including press releases, holding statements, Q&As, position papers and pitches. Manages regional PR agencies, including monitoring and measurement of regional communications, securing a favourable share-of-voice relative to competitors.

  • P&L Communications: Work closely with commercial / market development teams in the commercial and defense space to support targeted business opportunities and initiatives through brand campaigns and integrated marketing communications programs as well as customer events and programs.

  • Manage digital and social media platforms: Leverage GE Aerospace’s various channels to support business priorities with creative content strategy that drives strong engagement.

  • Executive Communications: Provide communications counsel to regional leadership on complex, sensitive & business critical priorities. Develop a thought leadership strategy and manage regional senior leader’s speaker and conference participation.

  • Employee engagement / Culture Communications: Deliver an India-focused employee engagement program to create awareness, celebrate wins & drive culture.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideal candidate should have experience in Medial relations, Public relations, Executive Communications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, Media/PR, Journalism, or related field.

  • Minimum 15 years of communications experience (in media relations, public relations or public affairs) with a Corporate multinational and/or PR agency with major multinational brand clients

  • Fluent and/or excellent verbal/written skills in English.

  • Experience in the aviation industry preferred.
