Job Description Summary

The Advanced Lead Engineer – Repair Development is responsible for repair development of Aircraft Jet Engine at GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center.
This job includes all activities relating to enhancing services technology integrating customer data, or capturing engines/products reliability, availability, maintenance, safety and other performance parameters. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is GE Aerospace’s multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing

Role Overview:

  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

Required Qualifications:

  • B. Tech/ MTech (Master of Technology)/ MS (Master of Science) in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and repair of gas turbine components
