Sourcing Leader – Edison Works Classified Programs
The Sourcing Leader – Edison Works Programs is responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement fulfillment strategies that support assigned Edison Works programs. This role leads a high-performing team to ensure resilient supply, strong quality, on-time delivery, and competitive cost, while managing supplier risk, compliance, and continuous improvement. The leader partners closely with Engineering, Programs, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Contracts to enable program execution from concept through sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Strategy and Team Leadership:
- Translate business priorities into sourcing and procurement fulfillment strategies for assigned Edison Works programs, aligned to SQDC outcomes
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of sourcing and procurement professionals, support talent development, engagement, and succession within the broader organization
- Execute category and supplier strategies (segmentation, make/buy recommendations) in alignment with functional and business direction
- Establish operating rhythms and KPIs for the team to drive performance visibility, escalation, and rapid problem-solving

Procurement Fulfillment and Execution:
- Own purchase order execution and material availability for assigned development and production programs
- Ensure effective MRP/ERP execution, including planning parameter health, clear-to-build attainment, and schedule adherence
- Lead expediting and recovery actions to resolve material constraints; drive tiered supplier management and escalation where required
- Partner with Operations and Program Management to align material readiness with program schedules, milestones, and customer commitments

Supplier Management and Performance:
- Manage key supplier relationships within scope; lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and agreements (including LTAs) in coordination with category and commercial teams
- Improve supplier performance on OTD, quality, and capacity using QMS rigor, APQP/PPAP, and effective corrective action management
- Support dual/multi-sourcing, qualification, and supplier development to reduce risk and increase agility for critical parts and technologies
- Drive cost productivity initiatives, including should-cost/clean-sheet activities and value engineering projects, in partnership with Engineering and Finance
4. Compliance, Risk, and Security
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and export control requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR) and internal GE Aerospace policies
- Identify and manage supply risk for critical parts, sole/single-source items, and classified programs; support mitigation plans and risk reviews
- Maintain data integrity and traceability across sourcing and fulfillment processes; ensure audit readiness and uphold the highest standards of integrity and safety
5. Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Engineering on design-to-cost, manufacturability, and early supplier engagement for new and existing programs
- Partner with Quality on supplier qualification, escape prevention, RCCA, and nonconformance management
- Work with Finance on budgets, standard cost, cash, inventory turns, and working capital objectives for assigned scope
- Support Program Management with material readiness, IMS alignment, and risk/mitigation inputs for key milestones and customer reviews
6. Continuous Improvement
- Apply lean principles to streamline source-to-pay and procurement fulfillment processes within the team’s scope
- Standardize work, reduce lead times, and digitize workflows; use data and analytics to drive proactive actions and decision-making
- Optimize inventory (safety stock, planning parameters), and reduce premium freight and non-value-added activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or operations, including experience in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Access Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of people leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive results through others
- Experience managing complex supply bases and high-technology commodities, preferably in aerospace/defense
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including experience with supplier development and cost productivity initiatives
- Proven track record delivering SQDC results in development and/or production environments
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and procurement fulfillment processes
- Experience in Edison Works or comparable defense/advanced programs environment
- Background in APQP/PPAP, AS9145, and aerospace QMS frameworks
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and government contracting requirements
- Exposure to risk management, multi-sourcing/qualification, and strategic cost modeling
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent

Location and Travel
- Primary location: Evendale, OH
- Travel: Approximately 20–30% to supplier sites and GE locations, as required
