Job Description
Site Overview:
GE Aerospace has an advanced engineering center located in Istanbul, Kartal, complemented by cutting-edge laboratories in Kocaeli, Gebze. Our offices in Istanbul and Ankara provide essential support to commercial and defense engines across the country. Our highly skilled engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center contribute to GE Aerospace’s engineering work on indigenous programs, new engine programs, software development, and additive manufacturing, supporting the country’s position as an advanced aerospace hub. Role Overview
- As an
- Aerospace EEDP, you will:
- Work on at least 3 rotations in various engineering sub-sections over 2-3 years providing different work experiences.
- Receive technical training, deliver weekly homework (requiring average 10 hours study), mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers.
- Improve your soft skills with various leadership development trainings.
- Have the opportunity to earn credit towards an MS degree in Engineering in Istanbul Technical University.
- Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
As an Edison Engineer in TTC, job assignments are primarily focused on Turbomachinery Design, you have the opportunity to work on a variety of high priority teams, potentially including mechanical hardware design (such as Airfoil, Structure, Rotor, Combustor), materials and coating applications, aeromechanics, thermal system design, stress and life analysis, manufacturing, repair, additive, and more.
The Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidate should have an excellent communication, problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to achieve results in a fast-paced environment and should be adaptable to change, self-driven, with a continuous learning attitude and a solution-focused approach.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree from accredited universities in the Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or related disciplines.
- GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0 overall.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Maximum 2 years professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing.
- Strong dedication to a career in technology and a real passion and curiosity for engineering.
- Demonstrated an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
- Demonstrated and enthusiastic leadership and teambuilding skills.
- Strong team and interpersonal skills, ability to work in project teams in an international environment. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication, persuasive and presentation skills, including executive-level communication.
