Job Description Summary

The Sourcing Value Analysis Engineer within the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Value analysis team has a wide range of responsibilities focused on analyzing and estimating the costs for all purchased components along the NPI Phase & Gate process, defining the Manufacturing Target Cost (MTC) and support the Sourcing Commodities during the bidding and negotiation phases.

Job Description

Essential responsibilities

  • Collaborate to define the make or buy strategy in partnership with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering department

  • Analyze and estimate the costs for all purchased components along the NPI phase & gate process

  • Define the Manufacturing Target Cost (MTC) for “buy” components, as base of business plan development

  • Support the Sourcing Commodities during the bidding and negotiation phases

  • Support in the definition, driven by Sourcing Commodities, of the suppliers’ bidding list

  • Analyze offers and drive technical negotiations cross the products

  • Support Sourcing Commodities in all key negotiations to achieve the Manufacturing Target Cost (MTC)

  • Participate in Cost out initiatives at Suppliers’ site (i.e. Kaizen Events, Action Work Out, Hotel Bidding)

  • Support the Supplier Development Team during the Scouting phase

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Aerospace/Aeronautical/Mechanical Bachelor’s degree

  • Basic experience in cost-out

  • Good presentation and communication skills

  • Languages: Fluent in Italian and English

  • Availability to travel min 20%

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge in the aerospace business

  • Knowledge of NPI’s process

  • Knowledge of technical documentation interpretation (i.e. drawings, Technical Specifications, special processes)

  • Good written and verbal communication

  • Clear thinking, problem solving, successfully led projects/process improvements within operations functions
