Job Description Summary
Join the Mechanical Design team at GE Aerospace in Garching, Munich, as a Working Student/Intern, and leverage your technical & analytical skills to help us continue to advance cutting-edge aircraft engine technologies. Gain hands-on experience and be part of a team pushing the boundaries of aerospace engineering.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support CAD and drawing activities for mechanical components and rig hardware (e.g., turbine and frame modules), including creating and updating 2D/3D models, reviewing engineering drawings, and ensuring compliance with design standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Contribute to documentation of design activities, trade studies, and analysis results.
- Support data post-processing, reporting, and structural assessments under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Develop and improve automation scripts (e.g., Bash, ANSYS macros, Python) to reduce manual work.
- Prepare and present reports to team members and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in 3rd year or higher BSc or in an MSc program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Initial experience with 3D CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX, and a basic understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Initial experience with structural analysis or FEM/FEA tools like Ansys (preferred, not mandatory).
- Scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python) (preferred, not mandatory).
- Ability to summarize complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive mindset with a drive to tackle challenges and achieve results.
- Passion for aerospace engineering and an understanding of mechanical design or analysis, particularly for aircraft engine turbine and frame modules.
