Job Description Summary

As Laboratory and Special Processes (SP) Leader you will demonstrate expertise in special processes, laboratory testing, and metrology. You will show strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include managing activities and priorities, collaborating with shop and engineering staff, overseeing laboratory and SP supplier management, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory and SP activities in alignment with priorities and the production plan.

  • Provide technical leadership to resolve issues.

  • Effective collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, shop operations, and quality to ensure requirements are met on time and to specification.

  • Achieve and maintain customer, third-party, and Nadcap accreditations.

  • Manage laboratory and SP audits both internally and at external sources.

  • Direct improvement programs.

  • Leading technology introductions (e.g. new metrology equipment, automation, advanced NDT).

  • Manage investment plans to enhance laboratory capabilities.

  • Select, hire, and train personnel.

  • Coach, mentor, and provide continuous feedback to team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree.

  • Strong experience in a leadership role (hourly and salaried).

  • Deep knowledge of laboratory operations and special processes.

  • Familiarity with process qualification and measurement systems.

  • Familiarity with key international and customer requirements (e.g. ISO 17025, Nadcap, S-400, PW MCL Manual).

  • Proficiency in PFMEA, Control Plans, Problem Solving tools and statistical methods.

  • Fluent in Italian, proficient in English.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
