Special Process Engineer in SPM team provides technical support to GE Aerospace/Customer Repair Shops and GE Aerospace Engineering Resources on Repair/Overhaul Process Manuals for GE Commercial Aircraft Engines. The role requires horizontal partnership with GE Engine Services Shops, Repair Engineering, Suppy Chain and EMS Organizations to ensure robust technical solutions for the customer. This role has a direct effect on short-term and some long-term business goals. Job location is at Turkey Technology Center, Kartal/ İstanbul.

Role Overview:

• Special Process Engineer in SPM team provides technical support to GE Aerospace /Customer Repair Shops and GE Aerospace Engineering Resources on Repair/Overhaul Process Manuals for GE Commercial Aircraft Engines.
• The role requires horizontal partnership with GE Engine Services Shops, Repair Engineering, Supply Chain and Material and Processing Organizations to ensure robust technical solutions for the customer.
• This role has a direct effect on short-term and some long-term business goals. Job scope involves working with Repair Special Processes Team and other GE Aerospace Engineering resources to substantiate/ revise GE Commercial Repair/Overhaul Standard Practices Manual (SPM) in terms of special processes and consumables.

The Ideal Candidate: Hold bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Materials Engineering or a related discipline and at least 5 years of aerospace/aviation MRO experience. They communicate clearly in written and spoken English, work independently as a self-starter, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. They move quickly while maintaining strong technical rigor, detailed documentation, and a continuous-learning mindset.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s (or higher) in Materials Engineering, or similar engineering degree

• 5 years of experience of MRO aerospace / aviation industry

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally in English.

• Proven self-starter and independent worker who can work with cross-functional teams

• Fast in action but with detailed technical review and good documentation

• Strong teamwork and communication skills, eager to learn continuously

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in MRO aerospace / aviation industry, component manufacturing/ repair
• Past working experience with Chemical Processes and Coating Technologies (i.e., PVD, CVD, EB-PVD; dry film lubricants / lubricating coatings, tribology, anti-wear coatings, thermal barrier coatings, slurry coatings , paints, corrosion protection surface treatments, anodization)
• Good level of understanding on materials, their physical and mechanical properties and processing; define and interpret qualification tests
• Ability to coordinate several tasks/projects simultaneously, strategically prioritize work with working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Work with Aviation
• Repair Special Processes Team and GE Aviation Engineering resources to substantiate/ revise GE Commercial Repair/Overhaul Standard Practices Manual (SPM) in terms of special processes and consumables.
