Job Description Summary

The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer develops, maintains, and generates CMM programs used to inspect and verify production parts and components in accordance with internal & customer procedures.
Provide technical support for inspections areas.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices.
  • Train metrology personnel on correct use of CMM equipment.
  • Creates correlation programs to validate programing strategies.
  • Work with a designated team to comply & meets deadlines
  • CMM Programming
  • New Product Introduction – Support Engineering Team
  • Drawing review / feasibility
  • Develop CMM programs plannings & document changes history records.
  • Ensure validations for CMM´s R&R and capability studies
  • Review and recommend process / modifications to achieve customer approval
  • Develop Instructions on routines of setup for users
  • Follow and comply with QMS documented procedures.
  • Other job related activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or +5 years of experience in similar position
  • +3 years experience in CMM programming
  • Experience in programming and measuring rotating engine parts such as Blades, Vanes, Blisks, Disks, Impellers, Gears, etc.
  • Experience in the use of precise measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometers.
  • CMM Programming in PC-DMIS and Quindos
  • Fully trained experienced Offline CMM Programming to alignment requirements.
  • Knowledge in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • Statistical process control, QC-Cal or similar quality control software
  • Blue print reading of rotatory aircraft engine parts
